The highlight of the June auctions in the diamond world is going to be Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction in Hong Kong on Tuesday, June 2.
Color diamonds will be front and centre with at least 11 pieces expected to sell over the $1 million mark. Here is a look at the 5 best pieces set to go under the hammer on that date.
1. A Superb Coloured Diamond and Diamond Ring
Mounted by famed jeweller Harry Winston, this ring features a rectangular-shaped Fancy Intense pink diamond weighing in at 9.07 carats. The piece is expected to sell for as much as $19.4 million (CAD).
2. A Highly Important Coloured Diamond and Diamond Ring
Another pink diamond, this one a 10.32-carat pear-shaped Fancy one set on 18-karat white and rose gold. The ring is expected to sell for between $4.9 and $8.1 million.
3. An Exceptional Coloured Diamond Ring, by Moussaieff
A highly original piece from British jeweler Moussaieff, the ring features a rectangular-shaped Fancy Intense 5.02-carat green diamond, flanked by pear-shaped pink diamonds and a brilliant-cut pink diamond gallery. Industry experts believe the ring should sell for between $3.2 and $4.8 million.
4. A Rare Coloured Diamond Ring, by Moussaieff
Another piece by Moussaieff, this features a pear-shaped Fancy Intense 3.00-carat blue diamond, within a brilliant-cut pink diamond frame and heart-shaped pink diamond surround. The ring is expected to sell for between $2.8 and $4.5 million.
5. A Unique Diamond and Coloured Diamond Pendant Necklace, by Nirav Modi
The only necklace to make out list, the focal point is a pear-shaped white diamond weighing in at 10.02 carats. The stone is suspended from a pear-shaped white diamond weighing 2.66 carats and a hexagonal-shaped Fancy purplish red diamond that weighs 1.03 carats. The piece by Indian diamond jeweler Nirav Modi is expected to sell for between $2.4 and 4 million.
