On Tuesday, April 21, Sotheby’s New York will be holding their Magnificent Jewels auction and the talk of the sale is a so-called “ultimate” emerald-cut white diamond.
Admittedly, this massive stone weighing in at 100.20 carats deserves all the talk. The diamond is Internally Flawless and is expected to sell for as high as $31 million (CAD). But there are some color diamonds that should rack up some big sales numbers on Tuesday.
An Important Platinum, Rose Gold, Fancy Blue Diamond and Color Diamond Ring
Featuring the Monarch Blue Diamond, an oval-shaped mixed cut Fancy Blue stone weighing in at 6.06 carats. The piece also includes 0.85 carats of pink-hued round diamonds around the centre stone. Industry experts believe this highly original piece could sell for anywhere between $4.4 and $5.6 million.
Magnificent Platinum, 18 Karat Gold Fancy Purplish Pink Diamond and Sapphire Ring
Estimated to sell for between $3.1 and $4.4 million, the centrepiece of this ring is a pear-shaped 6.24-carat Fancy Purplish Pink diamond. That stone is flanked by two cushion-cut sapphires weighing 2.44 and 2.36 carats respectively.
An Important Platinum, 18 Karat Rose Gold, Fancy Light Pink Diamond and Diamond Ring
The final color diamond piece expected to sell in the millions is this ring featuring an 11.41-carat Fancy Light pink diamond with a round-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut. The main stone is surrounded by 1.15 carats of round diamonds of a near colorless or pink hue. The expected auction sale price should range between $2.4 and $2.7 million.
